2012 -2013


is an Artist-in-Residence Exchange Programm between 9 art institutions based in countries around the
Black Sea and 5 art institutions in  Austria in 2012, with a concluding exhibition and publication in November 2013.

BLACK SEA CALLING is a project organized by
< rotor > association for contemporary art Graz in collaboration with the
Department for Cultural Politics of the Austrian Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs.

Wie das Meer zum Himmel werden kann und wieder zum Meer und wieder zum Himmel zeigt die
Installation „The sea becomes the sky becomes the sea becomes the sky 4“, eine Weiterführung einer 2012
entstandenen Videoarbeit.
Die von oben gefilmte Meeresoberfläche wird auf  feinen Stoff gedruckt und von der Decke abgehängt, wird so zur Himmelsdarstellung,
zu Wolken, man meint sogar eine fremde Galaxie wahrnehmen zu können, und bleibt doch das Meer, das wieder zum Himmel wird.
Die Selbstähnlichkeit zwischen Meer und Wolken, aber auch die Auflösung von Oben und Unten führen zur Orientierungslosigkeit.

The Installation „The sea becomes the sky becomes the sea becomes the sky 4“ shows how the sea becomes confused with the sky.
It is a continuation of a videowork from 2012. The sea surface, filmed from above, is printed on fabric and hang from the ceiling. Thus it
becomes a representation of the sky and stays the sea at the same time. Suddenly, we see clouds or even a  distant galaxy. The self-similarity
of the sea and the sky, together with the abrogation of top and bottom, lead to dizziness and disorientation.

Tak Tak ist ein Video das 2012 in Kiew entstanden ist. Zu sehen ist ein close up von Beinen in High heels die federleicht über rauhste Untergründe
hinwegsteigen. Eine Alltagsaufnahme.

Tak Tak is a video made in Kiev in 2012. It shows legs in high heels which lightly walk over rough streets. A daily routine.
